A Moment in Time: The Characteristics of 1982

The narrative of 1982 speaks to both fateful climatic benevolence and meticulous vineyard stewardship. It is a tale of ripe berries and near-flawless harvesting conditions, resulting in wines of profound complexity and depth. The 1982 Chateau Rauzan-Segla manifests these qualities brilliantly – its bouquet unfurls with layers of dark fruits interlaced with earthy hints of truffle and smoky oak.

On the palate, this Margaux offers a supple yet structured canvas where cassis and violet notes dance harmoniously with fine-grained tannins. Age has mellowed its vigour but not its vibrant spirit, allowing a delicate savoury character to emerge alongside its still-present fruit intensity. As sumptuous now as it was in its youth, the 1982 vintage upholds its role as a wise investment for those who understand that provenance and pedigree are paramount.

In conclusion, the marriage between an illustrious terroir and an apparently generous season has borne fruit capable of enchanting even after decades. The 1982 Chateau Rauzan-Segla from Chateau Rauzan-Segla stands firmly amongst the greats; its legacy cemented within each cork-sealed capsule of history. Offering maturity with vibrancy, complexity with charm – it is a wine deeply worthy of its haloed reputation among aficionados and investors alike.

The 1982 was never terribly well-endowed, and it now appears to have completely fallen off the cliff. Weedy and vegetal with meager fruit as well as depth, it is all acidity and tannin with shallow flavors. It is a mere caricature of a great Bordeaux. Release price: ($115.00/case)
