Fully mature, with considerable amber to its dark garnet color, this exotic, somewhat over-the-top style of wine shows lavishly wooded notes intermixed with tapenade, Asian spice, and sweet currant and plum-like fruit. Medium to full-bodied, very supple, without quite the level of concentrated and layered texture of the 1990, this is a wine to drink now and over the next 7-8 years. Last tasted, 10/02.
