From the heart of Italy's celebrated Langhe region comes an icon of winemaking, the 1998 Sorì Tildìn from Gaja. Known as one of Italy's most illustrious wineries, Gaja's deft blend of tradition and innovation has nurtured this extraordinary vintage.

Captivating Texture, Unmistakable Quality

Sorì Tildìn holds a notorious reputation for creating wines with a captivating texture and character. The 1998 vintage showcases Nebbiolo grapes' quintessential qualities, resulting in a wine that merges power with elegance in a dance of structured tannins and refined acidity. This marriage is further enhanced by the careful barrel ageing process implemented by Gaja, which has wonderfully highlighted the individual nuances of this remarkable year.

1998 was a somewhat challenging year for vintners across Italy, marked by an unusually wet spring followed by a hot summer. The weather conditions reflecting distinctively on this vintage, producing tight-knit layers of dark cherry, licorice, and earthy herbs, that steadily unveil their intensity with each sip.

A Masterpiece of Investment-worthy Proportions

Undeniably, the 1998 Sorì Tildìn is one of the best illustrations of Gaja's wine artistry and Langhe’s potential for fine wine production. The steep south-facing vineyards of Sorì Tildìn have imparted this wine with a complexity and depth that evolves and matures beautifully over time, making it a captivating proposition for fine wine investors.

This wine is not just an incredible expression of Nebbiolo; it continues to tell the story of its year long after it has left the vineyard. Its powerful structure combined with the sensual delicacy of its aromas mellow into a prolonged finish of extraordinary harmony, revealing the unique beauty of a well-aged Italian classic.

The 1998 Sorì Tildìn represents not just a brilliant achievement in viticulture, but also an invaluable asset for wine collectors. A testimony to Italy's fine winemaking heritage and a vintage with ageing potential that is yet to reach its peak.

Chocolate, coffee, smoke, licorice, and tobacco characteristics are found in the complex, deep purple-colored 1998 Sori Tildin. Surprisingly seductive for such a young wine, it exhibits abundant aromatic fireworks, fabulous fruit concentration, a layered opulence, more intensity, glycerin, and depth than the Costa Russi, and a spectacularly long finish. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2025. Importer: Paterno Imports, Lake Bluff, IL; tel. (847) 604-89000
