A Year of Sheer Brilliance

The year 2015 was one for the annals in the Piedmont region. Delightful spring rains followed by incessant sunshine brought forth early budbreak which then led to the grapes developing profound ripeness. This lush climatic condition led to a richness that we see readily apparent in the 2015 vintage.

Unmistakable Gaja

What particularly distinguishes this 2015 Sorì Tildìn is its decisive articulation of nebulous complexities amidst thrilling structure. It offers aromas of black fruits and lush cherries wrapped in delicate hints of lavender, all carried on smooth undertones of elegant minerality. The palate reveals ripe plums, elaborate tannins and an acid structure that lends freshness and longevity.

The 2015 Barbaresco Sorì Tildìn is dense and compact with smoky layers of black fruit, crushed mineral and black truffle. This growing site always produces robust and opulent wines, but these characteristics are hammered home even more so in the hot 2015 vintage. The wine graciously offers enough acidity to achieve balance and remind you of its pedigree. Barbaresco usually opens and evolves faster than Barolo. I think you can count on this wine to reach the start of its drinking window within the next decade.
