A Symphony of Terroir and Mastery

Antinori’s deep understanding of their homeland's rich wine growing conditions aligns perfectly with the 2006 climatic variables. Known for its arid summers complete with ample sun exposure, the ideal climatic balance was achieved in this vintage, resulting in a wine that speaks volumes about the region.

The 2006 Solaia is not simply a testimonial to its origin; it is an ode to Tuscany’s diverse tapestry. An aromatic fusion of dark fruits subtly interlaced with notes of spices, coffee, and chocolate provides an immediate allure.

The Vintage that Keeps Giving

2006 graced Tuscany with optimal conditions for grape growth. Warm summer days were balanced by cool nights, allowing for a slow maturation process that enhanced the quality of the tannins. The reward was a harvest rich in complexity, structure and opulence, making the 2006 Solaia an attractive prospect for fine wine investors.

This vintage exudes an exquisite blend of three noble grape varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese – each lending its unique traits to create a mosaic of flavours. A celebration of the Italian philosophy ‘il bel far niente’ – the beauty of doing nothing – this vintage implores you to do just that. Savour the moment. Revel in the depth of character and intensity of this elegant Italian masterpiece.

Safe to say, the 2006 Solaia from Antinori is one of the most promising prospects for 'fine wine from Italy' enthusiasts and investors alike. A true testament to Antinori’s legacy, this vintage unfolds like a well-written novel, keeping its audience hooked with its evolving narrative, never failing to engage until the final sip.

The estate’s 2006 Solaia is a big, powerful offering loaded with ripe blackberry jam, herbs, minerals and French oak. Like all of the 2006s from Antinori, the Solaia remains extraordinarily dense and primary. Readers will have to be patient with this wine and give it plenty of bottle age before the full range of its aromas and nuances blossom fully. Solaia is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2026. From top to bottom this is a beautiful set of wines from Antinori. The estate’s 2006 Guado al Tasso, Tignanello and Solaia are all beautiful, even if they don’t appear to possess the elegance of the superb 2004s. Importer: Ste.
