2013 Cote Rotie Lancement from Domaine M&S Ogier D'Ampuis, Rhone

The 2013 vintage of Cote Rotie Lancement from Domaine M&S Ogier D'Ampuis revelled in the unique climatic conditions of the Rhone region that year, with a cool spring allowing a long, steady ripening process that culminated in this elegant, assertive wine.

Wisdom born of time; an alluring investment

Led by Stéphane Ogier, Domaine M&S Ogier D'Ampuis preserved a familial tradition of excellence through generations, showcasing profound handling of the Syrah grape and its diverse expression in their top soils. This directly impacted the delicate balance found in the 2013 Cote Rotie Lancement, showcasing why such rarities are sought after by those with cultivated palates, as well as keen wine investors.

Experiencing this exceptional vintage, your palate is greeted by an intriguing dance between nuanced flavours of ripe black cherries, spicy undertones and soft hints of violets and olives. A savoury quality permeates the wine's graphite-like minerality, denoting its exquisite terroir.

Cool Climate Crooning, Refined Wines

The 2013 season was markedly influenced by temperate gestures from Mother Nature herself - cool springs mirroring cool autumns. The northern region of Rhone saw this passive weather as an opportunity to meticulously craft a vintage evocative of its enviable terroir.

Stéphane’s command over the microclimates within his land has given us an extraordinary performance here. The restrained power of his Syrah screams understated elegance, while notes of tangy red fruit and violet encapsulate the viticultural signature of 2013 - an astonishing synergy of fruit purity and site expression.

The 2013 Cote Rotie Lancement is like the sotto voce in the opera of Cote Rotie wines - mellow, deep, retaining its resonance over years and leaving a lingering impression on the connoisseur’s sensibilities. It stands as both a testament to Domaine M&S Ogier D'Ampuis’ mastery and as an intelligent addition to any investment portfolio.

The 2013 Côte Rôtie Lancement is a singular effort that’s as elegant, refined and silky as they come. Medium to full-bodied, layered and balanced, with lots of ripe blackcurrants, dried flowers, bacon fat and black olive aromas and flavors, it’s not a blockbuster—yet it does have perfectly ripe tannin, no hard edges and will cruise in the cellar because of its equilibrium and overall harmony.
